Applications
are available at the township
office and absentee ballots
are available for all elections
under the following conditions:
- Age
60 Years or older
- Unable
to vote without assistance
at the polls
- Expecting
to be out of town on election
day
- In
jail waiting arraignment
or trial
- Unable
to attend the polls due
to religious reasons
- Appointed
to work as an election inspector
First time
voters may NOT obtain an absentee
ballot if:
- Registered by mail and under
60 years of age
In Lieu
of filling out an application
residents may request an absentee
ballot in writing no later
than 2 p.m. the Saturday prior
to election. This request
MUST include: reason, registered
address and signature and
mailing address if other than
residence.
Absentee
ballots must be requested
for each election
Absentee
ballots must be returned before
close of polls on election
day.
Signature
must appear on absentee ballot
return envelope and must match
signature on application.
Absentee
ballots can only be handed
to the applicant
Emergency
absentee ballots must be requested
after 2:00 p.m. the Saturday
prior to the election and
before 4:00 p.m. on election
day. Emergency criteria applies.
If an absentee
ballot has been requested,
the voter cannot vote at the
polls without first surrendering
the ballot to the clerk.
