Property Tax Information

General property tax statutory language states if the last day to collect falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, the due date is moved to the next business day.

Michigan legislation passed a bill to move the last day of paying property taxes from February 28th (Sunday) to March 1st (Monday). Monday, March 1, 2010 will be the last day to collect before going to the County as delinquent.

Summer Taxes

All summer taxes are due by September 14th. These taxes can be paid at ALL Citizens Bank locations in Summit Township on or before September 14th, or at Summit Township, and only at the Summit Township offices after September 14th. YOUR CANCELLED CHECK IS YOUR RECEIPT.

1% interest is added on September 15th and 1% per month on the 1st thereafter. An additional 3% penalty is added on February 16th.

Winter Taxes

All winter taxes are due by February 15th. These taxes can be paid at ALL Citizens Bank locations in Summit Township on or before February 15th, or at Summit Township offices, and only at Summit Township offices after February 15th. YOUR CANCELLED CHECK IS YOUR RECEIPT

An additional 3% penalty is added on February 16th.
