Summit Township Employment Application

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPARTMENT wishes to fill immediate positions for paid on call firefighters/full time hiring list. Those applying for either position must have the following qualifications:
Minimum age 18 years
High School Graduate or Equivalent
Michigan State Certified FF-1 and FF-2
Must have a State of Michigan Medical First Responder License (Paid on Call)
State Licensed EMT- National Registry* (Full Time Hiring List)
Haz-Mat Operations
Valid Michigan Drivers License
Pass Physical Exam Hep B Immunization Pass Written Test
Pass Physical Agility Test
Complete Department Officer’s Interview
Complete Township Board Interview
Pass Employment Physical Exam, Drug Screen
Pass Employment and Police Background Check

*Paid on Call firefighters shall have a grace period of 2 years from their hire date to obtain an Emergency Medical Technician License

Applications, testing requirements and job descriptions can be obtained on line at and must be returned prior to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 30,2019.
